Island beach-goers can learn about the natural wonders of the coast on Wednesday, June 27th and Friday, June 29th at the old Coast Guard Station beach access area on St. Simons Island from 10am to 3pm each day.

Tybee Island beach-goers can learn more about the natural wonders of the Georgia coast as part of the area’s annual 4th of July celebration when the Georgia DNR hosts “Beach Week”.  A highlight of this year’s event will be the DNR’s Georgia Coastal Management Program – celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2018. Tybee Island visitors can experience Beach Week at the Tybee Marine Science Center Parking Lot on Thursday, June 28th from 10am to 3pm.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division (CRD) will open a unique exhibition featuring photography from members of the Coastal Photographers Guild on April 8, on view until April 30. The Beaches to Barrier Islands exhibit will feature over 40 works by Guild members, in an outdoor setting along the Earth Day Nature Trail on the campus of the GA DNR’s Coastal Regional Headquarters Campus in Brunswick.

The Coastal Resources Division (CRD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources recently deployed concrete rubble and culvert, donated by the City of Brunswick, as an enhancement to Artificial Reef SFC – located 18 nautical miles east of Little Cumberland Island.
