Lola Tract VPA

Lola Tract VPA is a 391-acre property near Stockton. Hunting opportunities include deer, bear, turkey and small game. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select Public Land option, Lanier County, and then Lola Tract VPA.

Dupont Tract VPA

The Dupont Tract is a 349-acre property located in Dupont. Hunting opportunities include deer, bear, turkey and small game. Hunters utilizing this area for deer or turkey hunting should be sure to check their game using Georgia Game Check and select Public Land option, Clinch County, and then Dupont Tract VPA.

Sandhills WMA: West

Sandhills Wildlife Management Area is located in Taylor County on the north side of GA Highway 96 and about 2.5 miles west of the square in Butler. This 2498 acre property offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Primitive camping is allowed in designated areas.

Conasauga River WMA

Conasauga River WMA is located in Murray County. Although a relatively small WMA (338 acres), this area plays a large ecological conservation role by helping protect one of the most biologically diverse river systems in the Southeast U.S. With it's abundant wetlands, waterfowl hunting is the most popular use of the area but additional hunting including deer, small game and turkey can be enjoyed. No camping is allowed on the property. Please note that the area is closed to all other hunting during quota waterfowl hunts. No ATVs.

Alligator Creek WMA

Located 2 miles north of Lumber City, Alligator Creek WMA encompasses 3,086 acres and lies near the confluence of the Little Ocmulgee River and Alligator Creek. This area includes deep sandy soils that originated as ancient wind-blown sand dunes.

Yuchi WMA

Yuchi Wildlife Management Area is a 7,800-acre property located in Burke County. This property offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Camping is allowed in designated sites only.

West Point WMA

West Point Wildlife Management Area is a 8,952-acre property located in Troup County. This WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game, dove and waterfowl. No gasoline outboards allowed on waterfowl impoundments and no fishing on managed waterfowl impoundments.

The Dixie Creek Area is 711 acres with hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, small game and waterfowl. The Glovers Creek Area is 337 acres open for deer and waterfowl hunting.

Walton WMA

Walton Wildlife Management Area is a 200-acre, state-owned complex of scattered crop fields, fallow fields, and wooded areas. The primary focus of this WMA is to showcase dove field management.  A variety of crops such as wheat, millet, sunflowers, and grain sorghum are annually planted to attract doves and other wildlife. The area also offers archery deer hunting and other small game hunting. Only shotguns may be used for small game hunting.

Tuckahoe WMA

Tuckahoe Wildlife Management Area is a 15,100-acre property located in Screven County. Bordering the Savannah River, this WMA offers hunting opportunities for deer, turkey and small game. Camping is allowed only in designated sites.
