Hunter Education

All hunters born on or after Jan. 1, 1961 must successfully complete a hunter education course before purchasing a hunting license. Hunter education is not required if purchasing an Apprentice License or short-term license, if you are hunting on your own land, or if you are hunting pen raised game birds on a licensed shooting preserve.

Hunt & Learn Programs

Both adults and youth are invited to a weekend of hunting and classes in a variety of skills-based and conservation-focused programs.

Buy a License

Depending on age and residency, Georgia law may require hunters to have a current Georgia hunting license in their possession while hunting in Georgia. Requirements vary. Licenses may be purchased online, in person at participating locations, or by phone. Your purchase supports the conservation of Georgia's outdoor resources.

Children, ages 10–17, and their supervisors are invited to a weekend of hunting and classes in a variety of skills-based and conservation-focused programs.

Youth Hunts

Children under 17 may apply for youth hunts and specific quota hunts.
