Panola’s fishing is provided by two lakes, Upper and Lower Alexander, totaling 35 acres and separated by a spillway. With no boat ramps, only non-motorized vessels are allowed. Upper Alexander Lake is the larger, with more accessible bank angling. A path follows around it, though some portions are back in the woods. A bridge with fishing platforms is found in the shallow upper end. Spawning beds for both bass and bream appear in the spring. Large carp are sometimes visible foraging on the bottom and within casting range. Largemouth bass are catch-and-release only. Lower Alexander has several areas where brush and vegetation provide cover for fish, making those sections best accessed from a canoe. The allowed harvest limits in this park differ from statewide creel limits. Guests 16 and older must possess a Georgia fishing license and abide by all fishing laws regarding size and quantity of fish kept. Boaters must follow Georgia Boating Regulations regarding lifejackets/PFDs.
