General Information
The Georgia Wildlife Resources Division Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center is pleased to offer a series of programs focusing on the development of fishing skills and conservation knowledge for youth and adults
Children, ages 8–15, and a supervising adult (18+) are invited to a weekend of learning about fishing through our Youth Fish and Learn Education Program. Classes will include Equipment and Casting Techniques, Regulations, Biology and Habitat and more. Don’t worry, there will be plenty of time set aside for fishing!
For each child attending, a parent/guardian must attend and be registered. Participants over the age of 16 must have a fishing license.
The Youth Fish and Learn Program has two levels:
- Fish and Learn 1: Beginner level focusing on the basics of fishing, equipment, knot-tying, casting and cleaning your catch.
- Fish and Learn 2: Intermediate level focusing on bass fishing and different lure types.
The Adult Fish and Learn Program:
- Adults 18+ are invited to a daylong Fish and Learn Education Program. The morning portion of the class encompasses the basics of fishing, while the afternoon covers more advanced tackle and homing in on your angling preference and style.
