State Fish Art Contest

Got a young artist residing in your home? Be sure to encourage them to enter the annual Wildlife Forever State-Fish Art contest. This contest is open to kids in Grades K-12, but the deadline for entries is March 31st – and you have to enter to win!

Students across the United States and internationally have the opportunity to win prizes and recognition while learning about state-fish species, behaviors, aquatic habitats, and conservation.  Using art, the State-Fish Art Contest ignites children’s imagination while teaching them about fish and fishing.

Angler Award Program

The Georgia Angler Award

Catching a big fish is always a thrill, and usually requires exceptional fishing skill. Each year WRD recognizes the achievement of anglers that catch "trophy" fish (by weight or length) by presenting the angler with an Angler Award. The fish does not have to be a new state record to qualify.

Youth Birding Competition

The 2018 YBC is scheduled for April 27 & 28, with details coming in fall 2017.

Annual Youth Birding Competition

What is it?

The Youth Birding Competition is a 24-hour birding event during the peak of spring migration. Youth teams spend the day finding as many species as they can as they compete against teams their own age. The competition is capped off with a wildlife show and awards banquet.
